The Andy Mattison Foundation would like to congratulate Mercy Staley and Taylor Archer as the first ever recipients of the Andy Mattison Foundation Scholarships.  Both students were seniors at Decatur High School and are planning on attending college.

We would like to thank everyone that has helped make this possible over the last year. Without the help of everyone that has donated money or their time this would not be possible.  I know that these deserving students appreciate this Scholarship just as much as they appreciate everything that you have done.

Teams for Mo-Morial 2.0 August 7th 2010

On Monday June 22nd 2009 the Mattison family, Ashley Spencer, and Raider Express lost a family member. Andrew Neil Mattison passed away suddenly on Monday June 22nd 2009 while playing Softball. Andy was a great loving father, the best friend anyone could ever ask for, and his loss will be felt by everyone that he has ever touched with his life forever. Andy has two sons Cade and Dane and it is our mission to help these boys have every chance possible to succeed in life, and our mission to help Andy’s legacy live on in the Decatur community. We have created the Andy Mattison Foundation for two purposes. One, to help the two boys make sure that they get every chance to have the opportunity of a continued education if they choose to. Second is to give back to the Decatur community through the ‘Andy Mattison Scholarship’ that will go to one deserving Decatur High School student every year. Your donation will go directly to the ‘Andy Mattison Scholarship’ which exists within the Decatur ISD, or to the college funds that have been setup for his two boys at local Decatur area financial institutions.

Please contact us for any questions that you may have about your donation or to request a receipt for your donation.

On April 17th and 18th 2010, we will be hosting our 2nd annual Andy Mattison “Big Strong” Memorial Softball and Golf tournament. The ultimate sports weekend!!! The Softball tournament will be at North Fields in North Richland Hills, TX, and will be on Saturday April 17th, 2010. Then the following day Sunday April 18th, 2010, we will have a Golf tournament at Fossil Creek Golf Club in Ft. Worth, TX. This is a 2 day event that will have an Overall winner (the team that has the most points for both days combined will be the Overall winner), there will also a winner for the Softball Tournament and Golf Tournament. In other words you take 4 guys (or 8, hell or 12, enter 3 golf teams) off your softball team and enter them into the golf tournament. You are not required to play in both; you can play in only the Golf Tournament.
